AML-UCL

Autonomous Manufacturing Lab Department of Computer Science, University College London.

Directors: Dr Vijay M. Pawar and Robert Stuart-Smith

Location: HereEast, Autonomous Manufacturing Lab, University College London, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London E20 3BS

The Autonomous Manufacturing Lab at University College London (AML-UCL) explores the integration of design and production processes of building manufacturing. The multidisciplinary team specialises in digital design, robotics and computer science research, developing innovative methods for bespoke fabrication and large-scale construction.

AML-UCL is part of the UCL Robotics Institute (a cross-faculty initiative between the Faculty of Engineering and the Bartlett School of Architecture). Based at UCL HereEast, AML-UCL leverages leverages dedicated infrastructure and expertise supporting research activities in: real-time robotics, teleoperation, computer vision, machine learning, computational modelling, multi-modal sensing, metrology, and control to develop the next generation of RAI platform technologies that enhance human-robot interaction through collaboration.

Research conducted within AML-UCL is also complimented by a sister lab at the University of Pennsylvania (AML-PENN).
